Cars

|
All of these cars are fairly unchanged from the day they were produced. They have not had any engine or mechanical modifications done to them, just cosmetic changes like louvres and spot lights.
I found a lack of information on the web about these models, so I've presented them here and hopefully they may be of interest to others.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
|
|
Engine idle suddenly becomes very high.
- Faulty IAC.
Engine hesitates/stumbles/misses when under load around 2500 RPM.
- Air leak in the gasket where the throttle body joins the intake manifold.
- Faulty MAF sensor. Test by removing plug from MAF while engine is running. Ignore check engine light and high idle but monitor for symptoms.
Engine is lacking power. Revs drop below idle when clutch pressed in. Car shakes when idling.
- Adjust timing by rotating the distributor slightly.
- Turn idle screw on top of throttle body to adjust idle revs.
